“BeyondSnow on Tour” is the project’s traveling roadshow, showcasing activities organized by partners in pilot areas and nearby cities. Its goal is to raise awareness among local communities about climate change and to share with stakeholders an assessment of its potential environmental, social, and economic impacts.

The “BeyondSnow on Tour” events highlighted the importance of individual, institutional, and corporate responsibility in preventing the most severe climate scenarios through ongoing mitigation and adaptation efforts. They also demonstrated how climate change can generate new opportunities for those living and working in low- and mid-mountain regions, especially when supported by forward-looking choices in local governance and policy that shape the future of these territories and their environment.

The BeyondSnow roadshow presented a series of development trajectories that respond to ongoing changes, exploring alternative and sustainable paths to enhance the attractiveness of mountain areas and diversify activities beyond traditional downhill winter sports.

Over the entire project period, 67 dedicated events of various types were carried out across the Alpine arc by the individual partners, and many initiatives were also organized in Italy by the regional branches of Legambiente in mountain areas. Among these:

2023: in Piedmont, “Puliamo il Mondo meets BeyondSnow”; in Lombardy, a walk to Piani d’Erna with a theatrical performance; in Veneto, presentation of the book “Inverno liquido” (Liquid Winter); in Friuli Venezia Giulia, conference on the Carovana delle Alpi (Caravan of the Alps).

2024: in Piedmont, clean-up activities with schools in the Province of Cuneo; in Lombardy, walks at Piani d’Erna with presentation of the Neve diversa (Different Snow) dossier and vulnerability map and presentation of the Carovana dei Ghiacciai (Glacier Caravan); in Veneto, historical and naturalistic excursion in Valle Imperina and presentation of the Carovana delle Alpi (Alps Caravan) and Carovana dei Ghiacciai (Glacier Caravan); in Friuli Venezia Giulia, conference on Communities in Transition and La memoria della neve (The Memory of Snow) in Gemona.

2025: in Piedmont, Green Flag Summit in Orta San Giulio; in Lombardy, walk to discover the Montecampione ski lifts, conference entitled Chi ha paura del lupo? (Who’s afraid of the wolf?) on the theme of large carnivores in the Alps and presentation of the Nevediversa dossier and the Piani Action Plan.
